Built by Parents Who Wanted More

OUR STORY

STEAMLabs Kids was founded by Keith and Di, parents with decades of combined experience in engineering, technology, and design education.

Keith is a U.S. Navy veteran and former tech professional with a background in engineering, product management, and training — he brings a disciplined builder's mindset to everything from curriculum to daily operations. Di is a Senior Manager at a leading design and make software company, where she partners with top-tier university engineering and design programs. Her insight into how tomorrow's makers are trained directly shapes our curriculum.

When we searched for enrichment programs for our own children, local options were too narrow, too passive, or too shallow. So we built what was missing: a hands-on, lab-based STEAM program for grades K–6, grounded in how kids actually learn — by building, testing, and discovering for themselves.

Our instructors are held to the same standard. Every one is background checked, experienced working with kids in STEM, and passionate about inspiring the next generation of scientists, engineers, and makers.

Five years ago, our family moved to El Dorado Hills from the Bay Area, and this community became home. STEAMLabs Kids is our way of giving back — and our own kids are part of the story, from helping build the business to testing every activity first.

MISSION STATEMENT

At STEAMLabs Kids, we empower every child in our community to BUILD, DISCOVER and GROW through hands-on STEAM adventures - creating with their hands, collaborating as teammates, and gaining lasting confidence that comes from solving problems on their own.
